Therapy for the Complexity of Being Human
I believe people are incredibly complex.
We can be strong and struggling at the same time.
We can love our lives and still feel deeply unhappy.
We can understand exactly why we behave a certain way—and still have difficulty changing it.
We can carry experiences from the past that we rarely think about consciously while those experiences continue shaping our relationships, emotions, and sense of safety.
This complexity is one of the reasons I love psychotherapy.
Therapy creates space to become curious about the patterns that often move too quickly to notice.
And from that awareness, new possibilities can emerge.
My Approach to Therapy
My work is compassionate, engaged, and direct.
I want therapy to feel like a place where you can be honest without needing to perform wellness or have everything figured out.
At the same time, I don't believe therapy is simply a place to talk indefinitely without direction.
Together, we'll pay attention to what you want to understand, what you want to change, and what may be getting in the way.
My approach integrates trauma-informed psychotherapy and EMDR with a deep respect for each person's individual experiences and goals.
I am particularly interested in helping people explore the patterns beneath their struggles—not simply manage the symptoms those patterns create.
Professional Background
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist with experience supporting adults through trauma, anxiety, relationship difficulties, major life transitions, and questions of identity and meaning.
My clinical work includes training in EMDR therapy and trauma-informed approaches.
In addition to my professional mental health training, I have a background in interfaith ministry and spiritual care. This allows me to thoughtfully support clients who want to include questions of faith, spirituality, meaning, or existential identity in their therapeutic work.
My spiritual background is never imposed on clients.
Your beliefs, values, and goals guide our work together.
Why HeartWoven?
Our lives are made of many threads.
Family experiences.
Relationships.
Losses.
Joy.
Beliefs.
Culture.
Love.
Fear.
The stories we've been told about ourselves.
The stories we've created in order to survive.
Over time, these threads become woven into the way we understand ourselves and the world.
Some of those patterns bring us comfort.
Others may eventually begin to feel restrictive.
HeartWoven represents my belief that healing involves becoming more aware of the patterns that shape us—and gaining greater freedom to decide what we want to carry forward.
You don't have to unravel your entire life.
Sometimes healing begins with gently noticing one thread.
Outside the Therapy Room
I believe connection, meaning, nature, and community can all be important parts of a meaningful life.
My broader work has included spiritual community, nature-based practices, retreats, and interfaith ministry.
These experiences inform my perspective as a human being while remaining distinct from the professional psychotherapy services I provide as an LCSW.
